Hi dear fellow Poolies,
My name is Belle.
I live in a flat that has a pool out the front.
The pool used to be maintained by Jacky and Andrew (living upstairs).
While Jacky was away I started getting involved in the pool care. Andrew started showing me a few things. Then at a sudden notice Andrew had to leave as well (for what felt like eternity to me). Enter myself into 'full-time' pool maintenance.
The pool started to feel like I had a puppy that needed constant feeding and toilet training and behaviour guidance. (No I don't own a dog and it's only what I imagine it would be like with a puppy....)
As I was googling pool-things to understand what the pool-shop people were telling me I found your trouble free pool website.
To say I was very happy to have found this site, is an understatement! I felt ecstatic (!) at the prospect that my pool relationship was able to be transformed to - let's say, an independent outdoor -pet-cat relationship.
In the meantime I have gone through trouble free pool-school, and will go through it again and again, until it has all sunk in.
It felt very good to have chemistry explained in an understandable way. Also going to the pool shop for water testing, I felt a little less like a fool.
So, a BIG thank you to the pool school !!!!!
Fortunately, Andrew has returned and is very happy to go along with the trouble free pool approach.
We are getting ready to do a slam as we currently have algae in the pool. Andrew ordered the 'correct' testing kit, and we are waiting for its arrival.
I expect us to be posting questions in the lead up or during the process of the slam.
When the style of writing changes it might be Andrew writing as he has the log in details to this account, so we can both 'pull on the same thread'.
We also have the premium subscription of 'poolmath' and it has already been helpful.
With gratitude to this forum I am signing off now.
Good night.
Belle
