In 2018 I bought a home with my wife, and the home included a small (~10k gal) in-ground fiberglass pool. The pool was built in about 1992, and was neglected for at least 4 years prior to our ownership. Luckily the equipment was all serviceable and a family friend is in the business, and got it fully cleaned up and running well.

Not wanting to spend $70/week on "pro" maintenance, I've opted to DIY it. My parents had a plaster pool built years prior so I wasn't a total stranger, but they used pool store testing and chems. It seemed to work out okay from what I could tell.

I've been doing pool store testing and chems since then, but I did find TFP and got a TF-100 kit because I still feel like I'm missing out on what sounds like the best/simplest/most cost effective route in maintaining clarity and chemistry.

Welcome to TFP.
