I’m a new pool owner in the swampland. Do pool owners in the Deep South winterize?? If so to what extent??

Hi! Welcome to TFP! Sure nice to see another Southern pool here!
No need to winterize your pool unless it is in danger of becoming an ice cube. If you have a huge leaf drop you might want to get a cover just for that time to help keep them out. Take it off once most of the leaves are off the trees.

Thanks Kim! Yes we do have a lot of leaves. I’m thinking leaf net or mesh cover to keep from having to drain. Have you any thoughts or experiences on what works better?
Nope as I just leave mine open and use my robot to clean it up! Hubby is 
and uses the pool every day even in the burrrrrrrr time!!! Hopefully some one who has used one or the other will step in and share their likes and dislikes.
