Hello TFP people! I've been reading this site and all the great information for months (years?) now and finally decided to join. We started building our pool in August and it was completed at the end of September (super fast, right?!?) and we could not be more in love with it. My husband and I both work full time and have 2 sons ages 7 and 3 so we decided to stick with the pool maintenance for now but I'm doing all my research and getting ready to take it over myself! Gulp. Hoping its as easy as you guys say. I will probably let the pool guy handle it until after the holidays, then I'm diving in (pun intended, hehehe). So be ready for long posts and lots of questions. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Welcome! :handwave: You can do this! I have young kids also and they live in the pool all summer! Ask away, the people here are very friendly and non-judgmental! You may want to ask Santa for a Pool Test kit. Here are the recommended kits Pool School - Test Kits Compared (these kits are recommended because they measure Free Chlorine at high levels, which you may need if you ever have to Shock/SLAM (Shock, Level And Maintain) your pool. Congrats on your new pool!

That choice is the easiest one you will make. TF-100 all the way. There are many reasons for this not the least of which is that it helps keep the lights on here. Plus the TF-100 includes more of the tests that you will use most often when maintaining using the TFPC method.

Also get the speed stir. Those that have it, find it a great investment.

Thank you! That's hilarious because I just told my husband that Santa needs to bring a test kit. Great minds think alike! That's why I hopped on the site today, I'm trying to decide between the Taylor K-2006 and the TF-100.

Crystal! I love your style! I bet you are a hoot to be around!

To me I really think the TF-100 is the best bang for the buck. The reason is you will get more of the regents we use daily. The TF-100 was designed around the teachings of TFP.

I have some links for you but I will share them on your other thread.
