I was very surprised to see my total alkalinity down to 40. A little research said heavy rains can lower alkalinity. We’ve definitely had that in my area. Do you see any reason to add baking soda to bring it up to 60 or so? Results below

How are you testing?

How are you chlorinating?

What's the TA and CH of your fill water?

Where are you located in TX?

Assuming you have a recommended kit, during the TA test are you continuing to add drops until there is no additional color change?

TFP pool testing kit. I don’t remember the model number. TFP-100?
How are you chlorinating?
Liquid chlorine, tablets when I travel but very rarely and just to get a little CYA in the pool to help protect the chlorine with all the rainwater, currently at about 30 CYA

I don’t know. Never tested it. I guess. I should know what I’m adding to the pool when I fill it

Where are you located in TX?
Brazos County

Yes, I start to see it getting red, but I add drops until it stays the same shade of that bright red.
