Sorry, haven't had time to post results in last few days, but have been keeping chlorine levels at SLAM level until this past weekend, when I let them drop.
8/25 - 6pm
Used K-2006 Test Kit and ran a full set of tests
FC: 3
CC: ~(.5)
PH: 7.6
TA: 110
CYA: 36
I have let the FC level drop from SLAM levels since it was up over 15 for well over a week and there is no "green" tint in the water any longer and hasn't been for over a week. Brush pool daily and Aquabot running 24/7.
I will keep it up higher than "3" however until this water clears up.
8/26 - 10:30am
Water is still moderately cloudy. Have been running filter, Aquabot, and Slime Bags on returns 24/7. Still have D.E in the sand filter - haven't backwashed, since pressure hasn't risen enough. Can just make out bottom of pattern on shallow end. Seems the dead algae is bypassing filter. The Slime Bags trap some, but seem to "release" some when I touch/disturb them, so they are not getting "everything". I just e-mailed Slime Bag mfg, and he suggested washing the Slime Bags daily. I have been leaving them on longer, and had only washed them once before, since they still looked fairly "white". They did wash out some gray algae though. Going to wash them again right now.
Aquabot picking up some, as well. . . . but somehow 100% of the dead algae isn't getting trapped between the 3 "filtration" devices running (filter, Slime Bags, Aquabot).
Was thinking of adding 8oz of water clarifier, just to try to collect/settle the algae - do you think this will help? I have a few bottles on-hand, but was putting it off, seeing what the standard "process" would do.
