I am new pool owner so any advice will help! I have heard you can easily/cheaply heat your pool using a submersible pump and black garden hose to run it through to heat and put back in. Can you do that if you have a salt chlorine generator? I didn't know if that would cause any problems running it through a submersible then letting the regular pool pump do its work with the salt generator?
Thank you for your help.

I don’t know about the salt issue, but I can tell you that we do use a very small volume submersible pump and a very long coil of black landscape tubing that sits on our very hot pavers to heat our pool. It does in fact work. My husband refers to it as his “poor man’s solar.” We are certain to pull it out before any group of kids is coming over though since the pump obviously has electrical running under water.
