Hey everyone quick question about grounding on heater gas valve. I had to replace the original gas valve on a Hayward H250FDN and noticed when I removed the original one there was a tab to connect a ground wire but there was no wire connected to it. Now that I’ve replaced it I’m just wondering if this is an important missing step or is the valve grounded via the gas line. Thanks

Welcome to TFP.

I don't believe that ground lug on the gas valve is used.
