I have a service company in Florida where it gets really hot this time of year…but believe it or not there are people who want their pools to be hot like a bathtub… and they allow their dogs to use the pool 3 times per day… one pooch literally squats to pee in the water. The heater and solar are going gangbusters. The Pentair IC20 salt cell was about 6 years old and I replaced it. The pool was cloudy when I went to service the pool today… chlorine was zero… salt was 2600…. and the pH was about 7.8. Considering this circumstance what is the best recommendation for this customer? This is a new customer and they like using the pool hot and won’t sacrifice the pups using it either. I’m starting to think I should have walked away from this one! The filter is a cartridge. Today I added 3 bags of salt, one gal of acid, and 2 jugs of chlorine. The water looked great when I left but how am so going to manage this pool going one time per week? Yikes.

Welcome to TFP.
Did you replace the SWCG with the same IC20? what is the volume of the pool?
One idea is to increase the output of the SWCG to maintain the FC at the high side of the target range.
At TFP we follow this CYA/FC and that is key to keeping the pool properly sanitized. Even with a dog.
Please refer to this
FC/CYA Levels
Actually with a properly sized SWCG and if the pump is running long enough each day, maintaining the proper level of FC is easy.
With regard to other chemicals, We would need to see the values of each of the tests that you conducted
