Heat pump stopped working, think the capacitor blew

Hey there.

Heatpump stopped working. It would make a buzzing sound for less than a second then do nothing. Fan spin for a split second once, then nothing. Opened the side and the capacitor looks not great. Is the something I should/could replace myself?

if I could really make an expensive mistake, I’d rather have someone else do it and I’m not sure if there’s other issues given the damage

I would have an HVAC tech checkout your HP, replace the capacitor, confirm the compressor has the correct amperage draw, and check the refrigerant pressures.
