Hello

Looking to extend swim season here in Northeast Georgia. Average ambient temp in Dec and March about 55 degrees (including overnight temps), which would be about the most I would hope to extend.

Through my research here on the site and other sources, I have decided that an electric heat pump is the most cost efficient option for us. We do not have access to natural gas. Propane cost too high in my area. I have also determined that for my pool I need at least 115k BTU heat pump. I got the same number using a formula as a salesman that I called, so i think this is accurate.

But I still have questions. What is the best option for a heat pump to work with my iAqualink? All other equipment is Jandy.

What type of pool cover is best to keep in the heat? Least expensive option.

How can I find monthly cost estimates to run the heat pump?

Would you consider a heat pump install a DIY project? If not, would you know a reasonable install cost range?

Thank you for you advice.
