Hayward Vari-Flo Valve leaking

Just bought a house with a pool at the end of last summer, so still not too familiar with all of the equipment. Saw a slow drip on the bottom of the valve so called our pool guy and he said it is no good and to order a new one and he’d install no problem.

Tried searching the SKU number on the bottom right SP0710G11M but don’t see anything coming right up. Was wondering if anyone had any guidance on where to order and if I needed the same model? Would be open to other suggestions if not.

Also is it okay to keep running the filter until this is fixed?

You need the MPV that fits your filter.

If the leak is not from a crack then replacing an O ring or the spider gasket usually will fix it.

Your pool guy may not want to bother with a repair.
