Hayward Tristar VS setting through OmniPL

Hello
I have a Hayward Tristar VS 900 pump controlled through OmniPL.
I'm trying to set the maximum RPM and pump prime duration.
When I disconnect my OmniPL data link from the pump and reconnect the on-pump control panel, I can access the Configuration menus and make the setting adjustments.
When I run without Omni the pump primes at my new max RPM (3000) and for 5 mins instead of the 8 mins that it does now.

However, once I disconnect my on-pump control panel and reconnect OmniPL those settings are lost and Omni PL runs my pump at the pumps max RPM (3350).
How do I set the max RPM so when the pump primes and when the heater turns on it's not running at 100% of the pumps maximum?
I'm pushing more than 90 GPM at full RPM and at times am getting pump cavitation alarms and it's loud at full RPM.
My pool is about 11,000 gallons all 2.5" plumbing.

Thank you.

Welcome to TFP.

You cannot set a priming speed in the Omni PL.

You can set if the Omni PL runs at high speed for priming or not. Try disabling priming and see how your pump runs.

Thank you for your response.
Are those instructions/settings you provided for OmniPL or directly on the VSP? I don’t see anything like that on the local OmniPL control panel or from the iPhone app.

Does OmniLogic offer control for all the pump features? With the heater on the pump runs at full RPM and it’s annoying. If a new automation controller will allow me to control the pump better I will change it.

Thanks

OmniPL can control a Hayward VSP.

Is your pump connected to the OmniPL with a RS-485 comm wire?

My OmniPL has the control wire (RS-485 I'm assuming) from the OmniPL panel to the back of the VSP in the connector where the local control panel would normally connect. The local control panel on top of the motor is disconnected and the OmniPL connector is installed. The OmniPL operates the pump fine. I can control the speed of the motor from the OmniPL app when it's running. I cannot control the max RPM during priming, priming duration and max RPM when the heater is running. When I turn the heat on (from the OmniPL app) the VSP goes to full RPM and I cannot adjust it down. I realize you need minimum flow to keep the heater operating safely but at 90 GPM I have more than enough room to slow the motor down, reduce the noise and avoid cavitation. I can control the MAX RPM setting when I disconnect the OmniPL from the pump and reconnect the local panel and access the settings on the pump directly. I just cannot find where I can adjust those settings from OmniPL. If OmniPL doesn't have that functionality but perhaps OmniLogic does, I would consider changing the automation controller for those features.

My VSP is wired just like it says in page 21 of the OmniPL Installation Manual you provided.

When your system was first installed it seems like your minimum pump speed for your heater to operate was set above the 50% default setting. Go into config mode and set your minimum pump speed down.
