Hello,

I am new to SWG's in general. My cell is about 1 month old. I read that I should check the cell every three months to look for any potential calcium build up. Please see the attached photos. You can see that the cell has a clear window showing the electrodes? Is looking at the window enough to monitor for any calcium build up or do I have to take everything apart and look directly into the cell when it is detached from the plumbing?

Of course I am trying to maintain a CSI between 0.0 to -0.3 so I don't have to worry about calcium deposits in the first place.

Thanks.

You should be able to see scale buildup through the clear window. If you see scale, do not immediately give the cell an acid bath. There are less damaging ways of cleaning a SWG as described in Salt - Further Reading

Keep your TA low and borates helps some as described in Borates in pool - Further Reading
