Well I got everything installed and she was working just fine until I bumped the RPMs to 3000. The brass nut on my Hayward de filter clamp let go and popped the clamp off. Is 3000 rpm too much? My pressure gauge was barely moving at the lower RPMs.

It should not be too much. You have an issue with the filter.
