The sticker is well beyond worn off. Here are the 2 pictures I took. It appears the model wouldn't be a big deal to replace with a 12v LED, but was hoping someone might be able to ID.

It looks to be a Hayward Astro Lite II, just not sure which one.1000004613.jpg

You know that light has a replaceable bulb?

I opened my pool equipment panel and discovered i have a 12v transformer feeding the pool & spa lights.

Not sure why it's wired to the 13v yellow wire though. Perhaps that's why it makes such a loud buzz, or it's 20yrs old. Maybe going bad.

Link to wiring diagram here.

So both are 12v already. That helps.

I've discovered Spa Eletrics R10 conversion LED kit, which seems like a good fit, and the respective R6 for my spa.

I may replace bith lights and the 120v to 12v transformer as that seems like a decent path for the equal cost as just the Hayward multi-color light.

Anyone have experience with Spa Electrics retro series?

Am I waiting off and wrong to think this would be a decent choice?

Transformer buzzing is normal.

How long is your pool light wire?

Light transformers have 12V, 13V, & 14V taps. Voltage is lost in long wire runs. You want 12V at the light, so you use a higher voltage tap with longer wire runs to compensate fir the lost voltage dye to the wire resistance.

Pool light transformers must be listed as complying with UL 379, “POWER UNITS FOR FOUNTAIN, SWIMMING POOL, AND SPA LUMINAIRES.”
