I have a Hayward S244T and when turned back to filter water is still coming out of the backwash line. What do I need to fix/replace? Valve is a SP0714G11M

Your multiport valve is allowing water out that line. In some sand filter multiport valves (MPV), we would say it's the spider gasket that is pinched or going bad. However Haywards also use a Vari-flo valve, so instead there could be a Key Seal Diverter Assy like the one below (item #14). Depending on the age of the filter/MPV, for some filters it might be better to change the entire MPV. If you check the MPV part number or ID info, you should be able to determine which model you have so you can find the best option. You also might be able to remove the 8 screws at the top of the MPV and carefully lift the assembly up enough o inspect.
