Hey guys,

Just discovered the forum this season and man have I saved money and been able to maintain a clear pool thus far with very little effort. Now on to my dilemma.

Tonight I discovered that my pump wasn’t running and the GFCI outlet had tripped. After some troubleshooting that, seems like the outlet needs replacing but I also discovered that the pump is also leaking at a steady rate while running.

I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to take it apart but what I’m looking for is some suggestions on what it could be exactly so I’m not looking for a needle in a haystack and just throwing money at the situation. I’m attaching a picture of the pump and a video of the leak.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have very similar pumps. I suspect your shaft seal is leaking which would explain the drip. Take a look at my article below for some more guidance.

In addition to the posted article it’s simplest to get a go kit for your pump. It will contain all the seals you need, which you might as well replace while you’ve got the pump apart.

If in doubt if you’ve got the right kit for your pump, call Inyo - they’re very helpful and will set you up with the correct kit.
