Anyone else ever notice when the sun shines on the temperature sensor (which is submerged in the water through the pipe) the temperature reads 3-5 degrees higher? For instance, my water temperature was reading 86 degrees but as soon as the sun moved over the house and hit the sensor, it immediately jumped to 91 degrees. I tried wrapping the sensor and pipe with Armoflex pipe insulation and that didn’t help. Same goes with the ambient air temperature sensor. I put the actual sensor where it’s 100% shaded but it does it also. It’s almost like the wire is picking up the heat.

I see a similar effect. Mine reads about 2-3 degrees high in full sun. I bought a Laser temperature gun for accurate readings when the sun is shining or when the pump is off.
