Hi folks - Would appreciate your savvy. (My first forum post - apologies if I have a duplicate!) My NS had a slow drip from the area around the vicinity of the seal plate. Worked and sounded fine otherwise. My pool guy (who I respect) said it was the shaft seal, and said I shouldn't bother replacing it - since once they start leaking, the motor's on borrowed time. The Hayward tech support guy said it was likely the diffuser o-ring, and I should replace the seal & rings at my leisure - which I did today or the fun of it.
The motor looked fine. Works fine again, and the leak is gone. Anyone have savvy on whether my pool guy was right? Thanks!!
