Hayward Heater IF

So I have the “IF” on my Hayward heater. I replaced the valve, and board because I could see the hot surface igniter glowing. None of that fixed the problem so I took the igniter out and scuffed it up after I put a meter on it and it worked. Ordered a new igniter and it worked so I thought. It will fire the first time I put it in but when it shuts off and tries to re fire it won’t light. Put the old one back in and it worked the first time too. When it didn’t start I put the now newest one back and it started but only once. Not sure what to do next…

Welcome to the forum!

Whenever I get an IF code, I always look at the venturi gas nozzles first. Spiders can build webs in them which prevent full ignition.
