Hi all,
I have a Hayward HP21002 heat pump, roughly 11-12 years old. I'm the 2nd owner, we bought the house 2 years ago. It worked well until late last summer when I got an "LP" error code.
According to the user's manual and another troubleshooting document I managed to dig up, this can mean anything from "you need to replace the low pressure switch" to "you have a refrigerant leak" to "your heater is dead and it sucks to be you".
Anyone have any guesses as to what it might be? I'm tempted to gamble $50 to get a new low pressure switch and see if that fixes it...at least that would be cheaper than recharging the refrigerant or having to buy a new heater.
