Installation in Florida with lots of summer electrical storms. Would it be wiser to have the power to the electronics switched so that board(s) are not energized when the pump is not running or power to the board(s) always on whether the pump is running or not? Or does it even matter?

Over,

Doesn't the combustion blower run if energized without the pump running? Either way I wouldn't have it energized all the time. I have mine wired to a relay that can only turn on when the pump turns on.

I wasn't sure so I just tested that. I have a manual switch at the pump for maintenance; so with that off, the circuit energized and the heater relay switch on, the heater panel displays LO and the triangle yellow LED is lit. The combustion blower did not start.

Thanks for your input; since the installation manual references connecting power to a switched circuit, there should be no adverse affects. I'll leave it wired that way and put the pump house back together!
