Hayward GVA-24 need electrical advice

Hi all,
I’m replacing my old actuator with a new one and the old one only had a red and white wire connected to my circuit board, but my new actuator has a clip with a black, red & white wire Can I just cut the black wire and only use the red and white? It’s the actuator that controls the solar return - the old one I would just hear the gear spinning at the end of the day when the pool turned off. I Jimmy rigged the drive with some washers so it’s past it’s prime Any help is appreciated so I don’t electrocute myself

The two wires are temperature sensors, not valve actuators.

The 3 wire connectors are the valve actuators.

J4 should be the solar valve actuator.

Oh ok, maybe I had the wrong wire Thank you, I’m out of town so I’ll check Thursday

You can see J2 labeled as Intake, J3 as Return, J4 should say Aux Valve A or Solar etc.
