Hayward DE high flow issue?

Hey everyone Just recently opened up my Hayward DE filter for the first time (came with the house) and to my surprise they were finger filters. I hosed off all the DE cleaned the debris inside the pump, my gauge is broken so it reads 20 and when I plugged everything back into the pool it reads 31 (so 11 PSI).. I added the DE and nothing changed PSI wise and the outflow is really strong feels way stronger than last year..is there something I'm doing wrong? I don’t see any cracks and I don’t believe I have air in the system. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to TFP.

Don't believe the gauge. It is unreliable.

Replace the gauge and then let's discuss the PSI reading.

11 PSI would not be high.

What pump do you have running at what speed?
