Hello from AZ, First time poster on this forum. Looks like a sharp group so I have an interesting situation that I would welcome your input on:

I have a Hayward C4030 filter. Clean the filter cartridges every 2 or 3 months and pretty good with regular maintenance. Changed out the main O-ring last year. System pressure is normally about 22 psi. I always noticed some gurgling noise from the filter and noted that the manifold had crack on the top. Ordered a CX3030c replacement top manifold and swapped out. Super easy, I thought. Pressure rose to over 30 psi, filter thruput and suction from the skimmer and vacuum are almost non existent, like there is a blockage. Put the old manifold back on and aside from the gurgling noise, system works fine. Had a local pool expert come and we did the swap multiple times. and had same issue. Even ran the filter with no filters or manifold and circulations are fine. Replacement manifold looks identical and we even used a mini camera to look inside to see if these was any blockage or packing material but it is wide open. Would appreciate any insight on what should have a been a fairly simple replacement. Ordering another manifold to test but while I wait, I thought I would tap into the experience of this group. Thanks in advance.

That's a really strange manifold. It looks like it comes apart. Have you tried to see if there is something going on inside?

How about part 11 and 12 on the exploded diagram?

Thank you for your reply. My pool expert actually brought over a mini camera to look inside the filter as I thought perhaps shipping foam or something was inside but it is pretty much wide open other then a few support trusses.
