Hayward Aqua Rite PCB main board question

Issue is this......SWG is working, however, the dial you turn to select the chlorine % is off. For example, set at 25% it may show it's generating at 50%. Set at 80% it may show it's generating at 20%, etc.

This happened years ago also, I was told I need to replace the board and I did. Everything fine until now.

My question is this just appears to be a rheostat or something that should be able to be replaced without replacing a $350 board. Anyone know whether or not this can be done? If so, any idea where to purchase the part needed?

Thanks in advance

Did you replace the mainboard or the Display bd? The most common problem is a bad connection between the display board and the mainboard pin headers. I would assume the connection was disturbed when you replaced the board and it does indeed make contact. Try to reseat the display board and clean the connections. Next, push the diagnostic button to display the "Output %" and then slowly rotate the knob in a CCW or CW direction. See if the number matches or erratic.
On the newer AQR Disp bd, the potentiometer is a 4 pin 10k Ω used as a voltage divider. See the below pic for reference. It is sealed, rarely go bad but possible.

You can try electronics cleaner on the display board dial.

Allow to fully dry before reinstalling the board for service.

If that doesn't work, you might need to replace the display board.

The display board is available for less than 100 dollars.

Unfortunately, the pot is sealed and there isn't a tiny hole for the contact cleaner spray to sip through. If it is determined bad, a replacement is available. You just have to do the leg work!
