Hello to all,

I just replied to a thread in the Pump/etc section re another failing ecostar controller. I did some quick research and noted that Hayward Industries was purchased by a private equity firm, thus hayward too. What this usually means is they gut the companies of corporate overhead, remove bad lines of product or lines business, drive up the quarterly numbers by cost reductions, then resell the company. It's a rare in ever instance of pumping a lot of money into R&D; infact, this is an area that is gutted too.

Note: this took place in 2017, but the President was just replaced in mid August by Kevin Holleran..Hale is now gone,

Thanks

Hayward Industries was purchased by a consortium of three private equity firms. One on which is Michael Dells investment firm. It is not clear which one of them is in control.

There are a number of ways PE firms can create value other then the slash and burn approach. We will have to see what happens at Hayward.
