Hayward 1082 Skimmer Basket no Longer Fits

Our 30 year old pool uses Hayward 1082 skimmers. Over the years the ground under the skimmer has shifted (we live in MN) and the base that the skimmer basket sits in is somewhat egg-shaped vs round. As a result, the basket no longer can be inserted down into the skipper. The skimmer itself is not compromised and does not leak. Does anyone make a basket that is more flexible than the standard Hayward basket? Just a small amount of give (flexibility) in the basket would be enough for it to fully seat in the skimmer assembly.

is the basket all plastic? A small Butane torch heating up the sides you could make it the same shape as your skimmer

I would be tempted to put it into a pot of boiling water to soften it up, then insert it where you want it and let it cool/harden in place.

Thanks to both of you....heat did the trick! I used a small electric heat gun and was able slightly reform the bottom so that the basket now slips into the skimmer.
