I am not sure who invented the lid to this unit but it has absolutely no grip when trying to open it. The small tabs on the side just cause you to lose your grip and punch the filter. Does anyone know of a tool that could use to remove this lid? I was debating on buying a belt wrench to help with tightening it. Other issues are that wife can't get it open. Maybe replacing a he lid with another type? Lmk if you have a solution or work around to this lid. Thanks

I have the same question. Those vertical slots around the edges almost look like they were made to accommodate a spanner wrench of some kind.
How about a piece of textured rubber like is sold in to line drawers or help open jars with?? It certainly does look to be difficult.
