Has anyone locked their sand filter valve?

My rental property has a sand filter. This morning I got a text that the water level dropped and is coming out of the backwash pipe.

Thankfully they caught this within 15 minutes. The lever was moved from Filter to Rinse most likely from a curious child.

Is there a way to lock the lever to keep it from getting moved? If not, any suggestions for remote monitoring?

I would think you have more handles than the MPV that can be tampered with by guests.

Consider putting a fence with a lock around your pool equipment.

However you lock your MPV and equipment, your Pool Service will need access to it.

This member 3D printed a cover on his MPV to lockout settings…

This is a good idea and yes, there is more to secure including irrigation timer panel. Thanks for the tip!
