Hardscape around pool

So we already have a bunch of pavers in our backyard for a patio and walkway area and my wife really doesn't want any more hardscape around the pool. She wants something lush/landscape looking. I told her that's really not practical I don't think and I've never seen such a thing. I think you need some sort of hardscape around the perimeter of the pool for people to walk, /run and jump off into the pool. .. I know they shouldn't. Or even lounge chairs etc. but I'd figure I'd ask anyway. Is there any other alternative to hardscape around the pool that could be walked on etc. And not get damaged etc. From water? Thank you very much

The smaller the width of the "hardscape" the more chance of getting the "softscape" aka grass and dirt getting into the pool.

You can put down artificial turf but I will tell you that stuff gets HOT so must wear something on your feet to walk on it.

We have travertine around the pool and artificial turf beyond the travertine. We wanted no real grass to mow inside the fenced pool area. Kimkats is 1000% accurate - way to hot to walk on in bare feet when it has absorbed hot Georgia sun. While it looks to be shaded in the pic, that is around 3pm. About a hour prior it was in full sun for most of the day. It can be very dangerous for our pups paw pads. So we are careful with her. Would I want to replace it with real grass - no way.
