Hard time measuring Total Alkalnity

Could be higher than 200.

If you expect that your TA level is extremely high, you can do the test so that each drop is 25, instead of 10, to speed up the process and save on reagent usage. Use 10 ml of pool water, 1 drop of R-0007, 3 drops of R-0008, and multiply the number of drops of R-0009 by 25 to get your TA level.

What does that mean if it’s higher than 200? I checked PH and it looked in Range.

This post is for @Jcsmith9

Not much in your pool. May cause a rapid rise in your pH, but that can be managed with Muriatic acid. TA will come down over time as you manage your pH with muriatic. What is the TA of your fill water?

May cause some precipitate from the SWCG

I just did what you suggested with the drops and it only took 3 drops of R0008 to get it red. I’m guessing it’s 75

Go back and try again with the 25ml. Wipe the tip of the 09 reagent with a wet towel in between drops, removes the static charge created by the acid...the static makes the drops smaller and the result higher.

07 clears the chlorine, 08 is the indicator. 09 is the reagent...should be three drops of the 09, not the 08 as you indicated.
