Hard Plumbing a Pentair Clean and Clear filter

Hello all,

I have a Pentair Clean and Clear filter that I would like to hard plumb. Pentair calls the unions that come with the filter - body swivels. (Pentair part #79304600). I'm not sure what they are made of. This my be a silly question - but can I use PVC cement to attach my PVC pipe to it?

That looks like a slip fitting to me. You should be able to solvent bond to it like you would with any pvc/cpvc slip fitting.

Thanks. Was getting a little paranoid after reading about abs, dwv, etc fittings. I also just received an email from Pentair; its is a schedule 80 pvc fitting. Going to place and order from flex pvc and hopefully do some plumbing next week.

Can you do all your plumbing with flex PVC?

That's my plan. No more hoses and clamps.

If I would replace all my PVC plumbing with flex hose, would my water flow increase due to no 90 degree bends?
