Hi,

I just setup my pool for the year. Installed a new sand filter (such a big improvement over the filter system that came with the pool) and got the water balanced (FC-7, pH-7.5, TA-80, CYA-50).

I pulled out my intex deluxe vacuum that I used last year and found some gunk/algae in the hose. Do I need to worry about this when I vacuum? Is there some way I should clean out the hoses or can I just vacuum as usual and let the FC deal with it?

I had issues with algae at the end of the season last year, so I don't want to introduce anything that may start me down a bad road this year.

Thanks,
Jared

Hey Jared !! 10:1 bleach in a spray bottle and a scrub brush will clean the hose right up. I personally do 50:50. Lol. It’s really no benefit but somehow it makes me feel better.

pour some (a quart ?) in the hose and make sure it coats the insides real good. Swish it around a bit and let it sit before rinsing.

Thanks for this suggestion. I did a 50/50 bleach solution, swished it around in all sections of the house and the gunk got all washed away!
