We kicked it around when we built the house and pool. Love oak trees. It's about 20' away from pool itself, maybe 15-16 ft from sidewalk. It's also 3-4' lower due to an incline if that matters. Anyway, the tree is several years old, but now that it's getting irrigation from the lawn, it's really growing. The canopy/drip line is starting to hang over the edge of the concrete. I'd like to keep it, but I'm wiling to cut it down if necessary. Do I need to worry about it? Root barrier, limbing?

Welcome to TFP.

Eventually that oak tree will get to be too much of a nuisance with everything it will drop in the pool. Sooner or later it will come down and you will then say you should have done it sooner.
