Guess who starts a SLAM tomorrow?

So. I go up to pool store for a refill. I ask about percentage, guy tells me “12.5, says it right on the container.”

Y’all don’t know me, but I don’t do well with people treating me like I am stupid. So, I say, “Is that so? Well, can you explain why, when I test afterward, the resulting FC level is consistent with 10%, not 12%? And it’s not that my water volume is off. I’ve tested enough to be sure of that number.”

He goes back to talk to someone in the back, and comes out and tells me sheepishly, “It’s 10.5%.”

:cautious:

This happened to me too sorta- the 2.5 gal refillable jugs have always had the labels worn off but i was told multiple x’s by the ps employees that it was 12.5% . The last time I picked some up it was a newer container & had a label- low & behold it was 10.5% !

That is so annoying. If all they can get is 10.5, fine. But don’t misrepresent it! I spent all day yesterday assuming it was 12, so apparently I never got to my SLAM level.

Will always do a retest on a new jug now, just to see what I am working with.

That’s more like it - dropped to 10, added 15oz.

Did it a bit early since I was feeding dogs and taking them out.

Back down to 10, added 15 ounces. It’s yucky and rainy so I think that’s it for the night!

Tested at 5:30, only lost .5 so didn’t add anything. Will check again around 7:30. It’s been overcast and gray all day. No sun at all.

Down to 10, added 15 oz. Brushed, but those dark spots are stubborn as heck. My pool brush does nothing. I need something with firm bristles that can still be used on a vinyl liner - your thoughts?

Up sick most of night, finally went to sleep around 7am. Ugh.

Checked at 11:30, down to 8, added 31 ounces. Some dark spots seem lighter. I ordered a stiffer bristle brush and will tackle those when it arrives.

No worries, I’m not in a rush.

I think I have magical powers. The minute I thought “maybe I’ll hop in” the lightning and thunder started.

Tested around 5:15, still at SLAM level of 12, so I will check once more before bed. Another cloudy rainy day today.

Holding 6 hours later, Yay !!! I believe you officially have the upper hand. Keep your foot on its throat and finish it.
