Hello all. Recently purchased a new house that came with a pool. I really didn't want a pool, I've never owned a pool, nor know anybody that has owned a pool.
I'm a pretty handy guy and maintain my house/vehicles myself and typically don't pay people to do things for me......but this pool looks like something out of a horror film so I'm playing with the idea of paying someone to clean it and start it up for me. So far, those estimates have been outrageous.

Hoping to get some insights here and maybe safe a few bucks.

Welcome to TFP! Being a handy DIY'er, you came to the right place. I would recommend doing these things to get started correctly:
1 - Make sure you have a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C test kit. As you may know, the right tool means everything.
2 - Update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info
