I love the TFP and the BBB method! I've been using it for years and I always tell people about it, and they give me weird looks. That's OK -they can keep spending hundreds of dollars at the pool store and still have a horrible looking pool!! They just don't understand the chemistry.
Anyway, my situation is this:
In ground Vinyl liner pool, 18x36, with a DE filter which runs 8-10 hours per day.
Water readings are:
FC 15
CC 0
TC 15
PH 7.5
T/A 100
CH 110
CYA 90
Temp 84
I think the readings are pretty good but I still get a light film of green algae that I can't get rid of. The TC is high because of shocking to get rid of it but it seems very stubborn and comes back. I do brush it and shock with bleach but I don't understand how it could possibly be present with that CL level. The CYA is a little high because of the CL pucks I use occasionally for some stabilizer. The CH is a little low, but I'm not concerned with the vinyl liner. Any ideas or solutions to get rid of the algae for good are appreciated. Thanks!!
