Good evening,
New pool (Plaster with Blue Quartz) was plastered about 25 days ago. 2 days ago many areas of the surface began to appear "dirty", however, the gray/brown dirt looking spots do not respond to brushing.
The plaster has been brushed multiple times a day since install and filter running 24/7. I've tried to keep the pH near 7.6, TA 90, FC at 3.0. The CH of the water is 375. Earlier in the week the pH got above 8.2 for a couple of days as I was out of town and not adding acid daily. (I had added 1.0 lbs of trichlor via floater to buffer PH/FC while I was not able to add acid and liquid chlorine but it was no where near enough on the pH front at the speed in which the tabs are disolving). Could that few days of high PH caused this? If so, will bringing the pH down to 7.2 (or slighly lower) for a few days allow those stains to be removed? Or could this be metallic staining? The PB added sequestrant the day after it was filled but other than that, only muriatic acid, liquid chlorine, cyanuric acid and trichlor have gone in the water.
Any thoughts are appreciated!
