Got the magnetic stirrer!

I got the stirrer last week in the mail and immediately unpacked and played with it. This weekend has been a real bugger so I did not get the water tested

I did put on the beaker and created a couple cool water vortexes. I then (prior to reading the instructions) put on a large glass of water to see how big a vortex it could create :) I took a picture I'll post, but it was quite impressive at about 3.5". Disclaimer, the instructions say I should not put any container on it that is bigger that the stirrer itself so don't tell anyone.

I'll post back later after I test some water with it.

Now that I've had time to use it I find that I really like it. I always found it kinda of distracting to be swirling and dripping and counting and trying to see a color change all at once. Believe it or not, it does make it easier to not have to swirl.

I used it for CH, TA and CYA testing and they all worked well. Honestly I think I got a better CH test than I've had before without having to twirl and try and figure out when it turned blue. Blue for me is a hard color I guess.

The only issue I had is that the knob came off the first time I used it. A quick twist of the set screw with an allen wrench will fix it. For now I just did not use the knob.

Some pictures as promised.

First what it looked like right out of the box.

then unwrapped:

and a close up:

Next some action using the provided beaker:

And just to see if it could make chocolate milk if I needed it to:

Thanks,

Sidebar: nice countertops and cabinets.

Thanks for the review, I'll probably be getting one of these.

im not a dark cabinet fan, but your counters look alot like mine, except mine have little blue specs and you have white.

Since we've moved on to kitchen design 101, I have to say that is the most fab range I have ever seen in a residential setting! Whoever does the cooking in your family has a great place for it!!

The stirrer looks really cool, too! I wanna see a chocolate milk vortex!

I really love the kitchen, we just redid it last year. Originally we did not want the dark cabinets, but the cabinet maker talked us into it. We really love it now. The darker color goes much better with the tile and the rest of the first floor.

The range was our splurge item and is truly awesome. It is dual fuel, eight burners, and double convection ovens. I love to cook on it.

Originally we chose the granite with blue specs, but it just did not look good with the dark cabinets and tile so we went with the white specs, actually a light brown.

Thanks for the comments!

we dont cook much so when we redid the kitchen in the new house we only put in stainless steel stuff, nothing fancy thike that chefs stove, but i love it, this is also the biggest kitchen we have ever had (becuase we added on about 500 sq at the end of the house and 200 is more kitchen. I have never had an island and it is the best thing in the world, but what made me faint was the price of granite   , i said this stuff looks nice we should change the decking around the pool and change the fire place to granite, NOT ANY MORE, WHEN THEY SAID THE POOL DECKING WOULD BE 75    ,000 DOLLARS, i said nice try but i will stick to my decking now.
