Good time for pressure testing?

Hi, I'm from Long Island and have a looploc pool cover being replaced this weekend. As of last week, temperatures were freezing and there was even a layer of ice at the top of the pool (seen when the looploc ripped). Over the summer, we struggled with water loss. I called a diving company before closing and they found 4 pin holes that were taken care of and two patches were done. However, between then and closing, I did see more water loss.

Because we closed in October, it was too cold to do any testing further. The pool company replacing my looploc said they could do pressure testing the same day since the cover will be off. I'm a bit concerned that it was iced last week, and am not sure if now would be a good time to get it done? It is much warmer this week, but the weather has been cold then warm then freezing. Would this weather change be a reason to not do pressure testing now and do it when we open in May? My concern would be that even if a leak is found, what if cold weather expands on it etc.

You do not want to disturb ice in a liner pool. The sharp edges of the ice can tear the liner.

Leave the pool alone until all the ice is gone.

Why are you replacing the cover now when you will be opening the pool in a few weeks?

The cover ripped as I was adjusting my pool cover pump, and my leg fell in. It's a safety hazard. Additionally, we open in May in NY and I received a good price for the new looploc, with upcoming tariffs and summer pricing, I wanted to avoid the risk of paying more at a later time.

The ice has melted.

Looplock is in Hauppauge. You're good there. :ROFLMAO:

OK ok ok. The materials are another story. But the joke stands. And I agree. I bought a zero turn mower in the late fall because it was a fair price, not even on sale, so I gambled with the bird in the hand.

Anywho, get the cover now being concerned for the reasons you stated. Do not disturb the ice if present as said above. It's melting as we speak with razor sharp edges, and you have a bag holding the water in your pool.
