Really been trying to follow the guidelines here but she’s beating me still.
We’ve been getting rain a couple times a week. No organic material to speak of though. Test results remain steady.

But the sides keep greening up. Brush it off. Comes right back. Mostly on the sides but pretty much anywhere. More like a dust. Possibly mustard? But not more on the shaded side either. I’m stumped. And disappointed.

Fc 4
Ph 7.5
Cya 70
Ta 50
Ca 80

Am I reading the pool math calculator wrong? For a SWG pool I’m reading min 3 goal 4. Am I wrong?
Ah - you're right. Missed the Intellichlor in your sig.

At any rate, you likely still have had less than min FC at some point, given the presence of algae.
An Overnight Chlorine Loss Test can confirm organic growth, but you can also skip right into SLAM Process.

Really wonder when that could have happened. I’ve been keeping a good check and very little fluctuations. Other than adjusting Ph and bumping cya up a little

What's your SWG run schedule ? Are you testing at the low FC point of the day ?

For example, if you ran overnight or 24/7 and tested in the morning, the FC would be built up after a cycle with no UV loss. A 5 would seem great, but by the end of the day it may be a 1. The next morning things would look great again.

All good thoughts. SWG running from 0800-1900. Testing in the evening as the sun starts down.

Ok awesome and you have your best chances for success.

How often do you test ? I've been paying close attention to mine and have found it off from low salt 5 times this season after heavy storms. When it shuts off it waits until the next 12 hour cycle to test again, and depending on the timing, could go the bulk if the daylight hours off. A day or two later it would have recovered and one might not know.

Haven’t had that issue since I fixed a leak a month or so ago. I can’t say WHY, but I can say it just appears on the edge of a bloom any day. Levels look great. Had to have something to do with the rain we’ve been getting I’m guessing.
Either way I started the Slam tonight. And adjusted TA a little. Brushed it down and left it running.
Was green on the slanted walls and edges. Pools are a lot of trouble!

Did you make sure to check all the spots where algae loves to hide so it doesn't resurface? Skimmers, weir doors, light niches, ladders/stairs, etc?
