Hello,
I posted a thread end of last year about startup issues I was having with my PS-4. I was able to get it running reasonably well until now. Bad electrical storm last week finished it off and it won't restart at all.

I would like to replace the entire system and would like some recommendations as to what to replace it with. I have had a number of issues with the existing equipment but was able to get it to serve me for about 15 years so can't complain I guess.

Existing equipment:
Inground large spa appx. 1500 gal.
Goldline ProLogic PS-4
T-Cell-15
One control panel inside the house. (hard wired)
One poolside control unit. Installed in the patio next to the spa. (hard wired) (always going bad and tired of replacing it $$$)
Two speed pump X 1
Single speed pump X 1
Blowers X 2

I would like to replace the PS-4.
Convert the poolside unit to a wireless remote that can bring taken inside when not in use.
Maintain the indoor wall panel wired or wireless ok.

I can post any additional info if needed.

Ideas and options appreciated. I am trying to obtain some local estimates. I know, probably very bad timing midsummer but at least I can have some knowledge on what's available and questions to ask.

Thanks,

Mark

Do you have surge protection? If not, that should be the first step before upgrading anything.

This is why I went this route:

However, it probably doesn't help you if the board is gone. Although, sometimes these boards can be easily repaired. What exactly are the symptoms?

If you want to replace rather than repair the PS-4, you are probably looking at an Omni-Logic system to be compatible with the T-15 cell. Assuming you want to stick with Hayward.

Thanks mas985 for your detailed response. I answered some of your questions below.

There is a "SurgeShield" type device installed by the utility on the house mains entrance. Those of course do nothing for voltage regulation.

I believe the board is bad. It had repairs in the past. It had the known cold solder joints around the relays -fixed years ago. I replaced the bridge rectifiers about two years ago.
Here is the post about what it was doing.

Now when powered on the blue LEDS on the attached controller just all flash. (like the video in the old post shows) Display is blank. In the past I was able to work around this with detaching the in house panel connector, restarting and reconnecting it but that no longer works.

I agree, am not all in on the house automation either at this point.

Hayward has the OmniPL upgrade kit that I think will work for you.

Thanks ajw22 for your response.

I was aware of this upgrade. I can't tell from the literature. What exactly is replaced with this upgrade?
I see there is a new board but notice the attached controller display is now an add-on outside the box.
Is the power supply and transformers replaced?

My electrical panel box that contains it all is getting rusty also is a new encloser included in the kit? (Coastal FL = nasty on all this stuff)

Thanks

No.

No.

You may do best with getting an entire new panel rather then the upgrade kit.
