We are new to pools as ours was finished about a month ago. We are leaving for 6 days so I am wondering what to do. Note that our SWG is not turned on yet so it’s a regular chlorine pool for now. I know I should SLAM before I leave but what else? PH is at 7.8 but rises quick since pool is new. What should I lower that to before I leave? CYA is 60 TA is 60 CH is 250 so those aren’t really my worry. Just worried about FC and pH while we’re gone. Thanks!

You should not raise your FC to SLAM level with new pool plaster.
It would be preferable to have someone come by at least every other day and add chlorine. Your CYA is already quite high for non-SWCG pool so trichlor is not a good idea. If you cannot have anyone do that, then put trichlor in a floater and deal with what you have when you return.
