Is it ok to run fresh water through the generator until I get all the salt levels set. I know this may be overkill, but I have an IC60 on my 24000 gal pool I got it at a less price than a ic 20 or 40, I just could not pass this price up. I am hoping
to run it at a low setting so it won't work as hard as a smaller unit.

Yes, no problem at all. My cell was installed but off for a month before I added the salt and turned it on.

Just make sure that the cell is off. I purchased a Hayward dummy pipe on E-Bay for about $35. This will be used in the winter and for the first month when pool is opened.

Others have already answered your original question and you are much better off with the IC60 TFP recommends sizing a SWG at least 2 and usually 3x your pool size for the very reason of not needing to run it up to 24 hours.

My SWG is almost 4x and I only need to run it at 25% for 4 hours a day so good job there.

I use a dummy pipe before opening and closing each year but there is no problem running fresh water through it. It should not make salt even if it were on, but I would unplug it anyway until you have salt in the pool.
