Getting Ready to Close

It looks like this is where the plug is, if your model has it.

There was another one last year that of the couple models in the manual, one had it and one didn't.

What are you blowing the pipes with ?
For the pool return lines and main suction line, I'm using the attachment we made when we pressurized the main line during my catastrophe using the air compressor in the garage. For the heater, I don't want to run that much pressure through the lines because I don't think it needs that much pressure. I was going to use a shop vac. 20220716_151113.jpg

I really don't think I have a drain plug. I tried looking for one on my model in the spring n came up empty. I saw 2 drain caps n thought for sure one was for the heater but both were for my pump. One on front n one on side. Im thinking I don't have one.

But what prevents the heat exchanger from losing water?
Under regular operation? The everyday flow.

Ok GREAT.

Also great !! I was always worried about mine. You just know the actuator is a flimsy plastic flap of some kind. :ROFLMAO: Your manual clearly states the heater will drain out the pipes. You don't even need to shop vac it.

Well that's a pretty cool device! The end piece is what I use to screw to the top of my filter tank and then the compressor attaches to it.
My brother made it to pressurize the main suction line. We both said we could use it to winterize the lines. It works very well.

Just making sure I'm doing everything right so I'm not causing myself grief and destroying my equipment during the freeze thaw cycles we go through. I've had enough grief! Lol

See the link I posted in post #7 - a few page after the linked page you will see part #23 referenced. It looks like part #23 includes the drain plug on the outside of the case and a hose that attaches somewhere inside the case - and is applicbvle to only certain models/sizes of the pesent Jandy heat pump series.

If yours only has a cap or plug visible from the outside, chances are yours isn't one of the models with the included external drain.
