My water exchange is going well. I have been pumping and filling for 14 hours and have already seen my values change significantly:
From 0.5 free chlorine to 0.5 free chlorine
From 0 combined chlorine to 0.5 combined chlorine
From 7.6 PH to 7.2 PH
From 110 alkalinity to 110 alkalinity
From 575 calcium hardness to 370 calcium hardness (I have never had calcium within the ideal range!)
From 180 CYA to 90 CYA
I will continue exchanging for the next 14 hours according to my calculations. I want to get ready with the liquid chlorine and whatever else I need. Is the liquid chlorine at the pool store (the kind that you get in the refillable jugs) what I can use here? Is there a link to read to learn about the protocol? What do folks do who travel away from their pool and can’t do a daily dose? Am I saying goodbye forever to tablets and powders?
Thanks for all of your help thus far. I see a light at the end of the tunnel and hope that it is sunshine!
