Generic Borax, 20 mule team. Is this stuff the same thing?

Is this a bulk, cheaper alternative to "Borax 20 mule team"?
I was pondering going the borate route for my pool this year and I would need about 100 pound of it and 6 gallons of MA.
At $0.60/pound for the Borate that seems like a good deal.

Yes you can use sodium tetraborate. Same thing.

Have you looked into Boric Acid? A lot more pH-neutral than Borax, doesn't require tons of MA to keep pH in range. Most people here order it from Duda Diesel.

No, I have never heard of Boric Acid. Same end result? Looking for 40-ish ppm of borates?

Check out the shipping costs. For me, it costs more for shipping than for the product. It's cheaper to get it at WalMart.
