Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to have two separate heaters on a system? We have a gas heater right now, but are getting rid of our solar heating panels to put in solar electric panels. I am wondering if we can keep the gas heater for the spa, but add a heat pump to replace the solar heating panels. Does anyone know or have any advice?

Here is a little bit about our system. We have a inground spa and and pool on the same filtration system. The water goes in through a skimmer off the pool and exits through the spa which flows back in to the pool. There are also jets on the side of the pool that use water returned from the filter and a pool sweep outlet too.

Thanks for any help!

What pool control system do you have? Some are better at controlling two heaters then others.

Tell us what specific model equipment you have.

Thanks for the reply!

The panel is a Pentair easy touch for pool and spa. I have a Pentair Intelliflo VSF pump (3.0 HP), an older Pentair Boost-Rite booster pump (1.1 HP), and a Pentair FNS Plus (48 sq. ft.) filter.

Please let me know if this is not enough detail. I also took a picture of the pipes but haven't gotten it off my phone yet.
